Haiku Miscellany by Cheryl DeWolfe is a collection of 25 haiku poems inspired by and starring the plush creations of Creative Miscellany. Cheryl has been writing haiku since she first learned of the poetry form in her teens and uses it as creative doodling, often penning haiku during her morning transit.
Cheryl’s plush creatures are each one-of-a-kind, and each has its own personality. After taking many product photos, Cheryl was inspired to create a book just for them. Monsters, aliens and robots feature in haiku about everything from recycling to ruling the world. Here’s a pair of pages from inside the book:
Cheryl is also available to do readings from Haiku Miscellany and talk about haiku for your school class. Get in touch to book a reading or check availability.
If you are in Victoria you can borrow Haiku Miscellany from the McPherson or Curriculum Libraries at UVic or the Greater Victoria Public Library. If you’re a librarian who would like a copy for your branch, please get in touch with me!
